Mail client settings โ
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| IMAP server | mail.yourdomain.com |
| IMAP port | 993 (SSL) |
| SMTP server | mail.yourdomain.com |
| SMTP port | 587 (STARTTLS) or 465 (SSL) |
| Username | Full email address |
| Password | Account password |
Email aliases and forwarders โ
Alias โ an additional address that delivers to an existing mailbox. No separate login needed.
In cPanel: Email โ Email Aliases โ Add Alias โ set alias@domain.com to deliver to main@domain.com.
Forwarder โ redirects mail from one address to another, including addresses at other domains.
In cPanel: Email โ Forwarders โ Add Forwarder โ forward info@domain.com to yourname@gmail.com.
Managing storage quotas โ
If a mailbox fills up, new mail is rejected. Monitor usage in cPanel โ Email Accounts โ the used/total storage is shown for each account.
To increase a quota: click Manage next to the account โ update Storage Space โ Save.
IMAP vs POP3
Use IMAP, not POP3. IMAP keeps mail on the server and syncs across all devices. POP3 downloads and (by default) deletes mail from the server โ if your client crashes, mail is gone.
