Hosting Packages & Limits in DirectAdmin
How to create, edit, and assign hosting packages in DirectAdmin: setting disk, bandwidth, email, and database limits for resellers and users.
Updated August 2026
Packages define the resource limits available to accounts. DirectAdmin has two package types: Reseller Packages (for resellers) and User Packages (for end users).
Reseller packages
Reseller packages define the total resources a reseller can distribute across all their users.
Create a reseller package
- Log in as Admin and go to Reseller Level → Add Reseller Package.
- Enter a package name (e.g.
Agency-100GB). - Set resource totals the reseller can distribute:
- Bandwidth (MB/month): e.g.
1048576for 1 TB - Disk Space (MB): e.g.
102400for 100 GB - Domains, subdomains, email accounts, databases
- Bandwidth (MB/month): e.g.
- Click Add.
User packages
User packages define limits for individual hosting accounts.
Create a user package
- Log in as Admin or the owning reseller.
- Go to Reseller Level → Add Package.
- Enter a name (e.g.
Basic-5GB). - Set per-account limits: | Resource | Example value | |---|---| | Bandwidth | 51200 MB (50 GB) | | Disk Space | 5120 MB (5 GB) | | Email accounts | 20 | | Databases | 10 | | Subdomains | 20 | | FTP accounts | 5 | | Addon domains | 5 |
- Click Add.
Assigning a package to an account
When creating a user (Admin Level → Create User), select the package from the Package dropdown. The account inherits all the package limits immediately.
Editing a package
- Reseller Level → List Packages
- Click the package name
- Modify values
- Click Save
Changes apply immediately to all accounts currently on that package.
Viewing accounts per package
Admin Level → List All Users → filter by the package name in the search. Useful before editing a package to see how many accounts would be affected.
Set bandwidth to 0 for unlimited: In DirectAdmin, entering
0for any resource means unlimited. Use this for resellers or premium accounts where you want no hard cap.
