How much does an SSL certificate cost?
Nothing on our plans: every site gets free, auto-renewing SSL. Paid certificates start at $6.95/yr for DV, $120/yr for OV and $157/yr for EV, and wildcards start at $59.95/yr.
Do I need to buy an SSL certificate?
Usually not. The free certificate has the same encryption strength as a paid one. You pay for verified identity, a CA warranty or a managed wildcard, not for better encryption.
When does a paid certificate make sense?
When you need what free certificates do not carry: your verified business identity (OV or EV), a commercial warranty, or one wildcard managed for compliance reasons.
Is the encryption weaker on free certificates?
No. The encryption is identical and browsers treat both the same. Paid certificates differ in validation depth, warranty and lifecycle options, not in cryptography.
What is a wildcard certificate?
One certificate for *.yourbrand.com that covers every subdomain at that level, like shop. and app., from $59.95/yr. We install it on your server or hosting account.
Who installs and renews the certificates?
