Migrations Policy
RemarkableCloud includes free server migrations with every Cloud Cube. This page covers what is included, what isn't, and how the process works.
What is included
The following are migrated at no cost:
- All cPanel, DirectAdmin, or Plesk accounts and their contents
- Website files, databases, and email accounts
- DNS zones and records
- Server configurations (PHP settings,
.htaccess, cron jobs) - SSL certificates (reissued free on the new server)
- Custom software installed via the control panel
What requires extra coordination
- Custom server software — applications installed outside the control panel (custom Node.js apps, Docker containers, custom daemons) may require additional setup time. Mention these in your migration request.
- Windows servers — Windows-to-Windows migrations are handled on a case-by-case basis
- Databases over 50 GB — large database migrations are handled in stages to minimize downtime. Contact us in advance.
- Active mail servers with strict SPF/DKIM — we coordinate the DNS cutover carefully to avoid mail interruption
Migration process
- Request — open a support ticket with your source server details
- Initial copy — we copy all data to your new server while the old one stays live
- Verification — we confirm all sites and services work on the new server
- DNS cutover — we update DNS or guide you through it
- Final sync — any changes made during the migration window are synced
- Confirmation — we notify you when complete
Total time: typically 1–4 hours for most servers. Very large servers (100+ GB) may take longer and are scheduled in advance.
SLA during migrations
The 500% SLA applies to your new server from the moment it is provisioned. Downtime during the DNS propagation period (which is outside our control) does not count against the SLA.
Outgoing migrations
If you're leaving RemarkableCloud, we will provide reasonable assistance to help you export your data. We can provide access credentials for your control panel and SSH for up to 30 days after service cancellation.
