Upgrade or Resize Your Plan

How to upgrade or downgrade your RemarkableCloud Cloud Cube: what changes, what stays the same, and how proration works.

Updated August 2026

You can upgrade your Cloud Cube to a larger plan or downgrade to a smaller one from the client area at any time.

How to upgrade

  1. Log into your client area at manager.remarkablecloud.com.
  2. Go to Services → My Services and click your Cloud Cube.
  3. Click Upgrade/Downgrade.
  4. Select the new plan from the list.
  5. Review the prorated cost and the new monthly price.
  6. Click Continue and complete payment if there is an amount due.

What changes during an upgrade

ResourceUpgrade behavior
RAMIncreased immediately on next reboot
CPUIncreased immediately on next reboot
NVMe diskExpanded immediately (no reboot needed)
BandwidthPlan allowance updated immediately
S3 storageAllocation increased immediately

A brief reboot is typically required for RAM and CPU changes to take effect. The reboot is fast: usually under 60 seconds.

What does NOT change

  • Your server IP address stays the same
  • All your data, websites, and databases are preserved
  • Control panel settings and configurations are unchanged
  • Your cPanel accounts and all hosted sites remain intact

Proration

Upgrades are prorated to the end of your current billing cycle:

  • Upgrading mid-cycle: you pay the difference between your current plan and the new plan, prorated for the remaining days
  • Downgrading mid-cycle: credit is applied to your next invoice for the remaining days on the higher plan

Example: You have a Shared CPU 4GB ($18/mo) and upgrade to Dedicated CPU 8GB ($40/mo) with 15 days left in the billing cycle. You pay ($40 - $18) / 30 × 15 = $11 prorated charge.

Choosing the right plan upgrade

Current situationRecommended upgrade
High CPU usage (consistently 80%+)Shared CPU → Dedicated CPU
Running out of RAMSame type, larger size
Running out of diskSame type, larger size OR Storage Optimized
High-traffic WooCommerceDedicated CPU
Multiple WordPress sites on one serverShared CPU 16GB or 24GB

Check resource usage before upgrading: Before upgrading, check your actual resource usage in the server management dashboard or WHM. Many slowness issues are caused by plugin problems or missing caching: upgrading won’t help those. See the LiteSpeed caching guide first.
