Apps / Vaultwarden

Managed Vaultwarden hosting.
One server, no app limits.

Self-hosted Bitwarden-compatible password manager. Your vault, your server, our backups.

What it is

Vaultwarden is the lightweight server for Bitwarden clients: the password manager your team already knows, with the vault on your hardware and the per-user pricing gone.

Minimum RAM

1 GB

Fits on SC-1GB; SC-2GB is the comfortable pick with room to stack.

What we install

The playbook deploys the current Vaultwarden behind HTTPS with signups locked to your organization, the admin panel secured, mail through the managed gateway for invites and resets, and attachments on local NVMe.

What managed covers

Platform and server updates with snapshots first, daily snapshots plus dual offsite backups of the encrypted vault, monitoring, and the managed firewall. The vault data is end-to-end encrypted; we cannot read it, and neither can anyone else.

The app is $0. The managed server is the only bill, and everything above is part of it.

What does managed Vaultwarden hosting include?

A hardened Vaultwarden compatible with every official Bitwarden client, backed up twice offsite, with working invite email and organization features (sharing, collections) that the hosted product gates by tier, at flat server pricing.

Is self-hosting passwords safe?

The vault is encrypted end-to-end on your devices before it ever reaches the server; the server stores ciphertext. What self-hosting changes is custody and availability, and both are handled: patched host, watched firewall, daily backups to two destinations.

Do the Bitwarden apps work with it?

All of them: browser extensions, iOS, Android, desktop, and CLI point at your server URL and work exactly as with the hosted service, autofill included.

Can we make it VPN-only?

Yes, and security-minded teams do: WireGuard from this catalog in front of Vaultwarden means the vault server is simply not on the public internet. Two apps, one server, materially smaller attack surface.

Stack it

Vaultwarden runs well with.

Same server, no extra bill. These are the companions our team installs next to Vaultwarden most often.

WireGuard

+1 GB

The modern VPN protocol, deployed with client configs ready to import and the tunnel verified working.

Nextcloud

+2 GB

Your own file, calendar, and office suite. The self-hosted office anchor, with backups included instead of sold separately.

Frequently asked questions

How much RAM does Vaultwarden need?

1 GB is generous; Vaultwarden is famously light, a single Rust binary where the official server is a fleet.

What if the server has a problem?

Clients keep a synced local cache, so passwords remain available while we restore, and restores come from snapshots or the dual offsite backups.

Can we import from another manager?

Yes, the clients import from every mainstream manager's export format, and organization setup is part of onboarding.
