How to create a Hosting Package

Updated on January 9, 2023

cPanel and WHM (Web Host Manager) are tools that allow you to manage your hosting account and server. With cPanel, you can create and manage your website, email accounts, and more. In this article, we will show you how to create a hosting package in cPanel/WHM.

A hosting package is a set of resources and features that you can assign to a cPanel account. This allows you to customize the capabilities of each account and control the resources that are used.

Step 1: Access cPanel/WHM

To create a hosting package in cPanel/WHM, you need to access the login page. This can typically be done by going to yourdomain.com/cpanel or by logging in to your hosting account and clicking on the “cPanel” button.

Step 2: Log in to cPanel/WHM

Once you are on the login page, you will need to enter your username and password. If you do not know your login credentials, you can contact your hosting provider or check your account documentation for more information.

Step 3: Go to the Packages section

Once you are logged in to cPanel/WHM, you will see the main dashboard. To create a hosting package, click on the “Packages” icon in the “Account Functions” section.

Step 4: Create a new package

On the “Packages” page, you will see a list of existing packages. To create a new package, click on the “Add a Package” button.

Step 5: Fill in the package details

You will be prompted to enter the following information:

Package name: This is the name of your package. Choose a descriptive and unique name.
Resource limits: Set the limits for the resources that are included in this package. This can include things like disk space, bandwidth, and number of email accounts.
Add-on domains: Set the number of add-on domains that can be added to this package.
Subdomains: Set the number of subdomains that can be added to this package.
Parked domains: Set the number of parked domains that can be added to this package.
Step 6: Review and create the package

Once you have entered all of the required information, click on the “Create” button to create the package. You will see a confirmation message once the package has been created successfully.

Congratulations! You have now successfully created a hosting package in cPanel/WHM. You can use this package to create new accounts and assign specific resources and features to them. If you have any questions or need further assistance, you can contact your hosting provider or refer to the cPanel/WHM documentation.
